15 Years of Tailored Care: Balancing Research and Practice
For the past 15 years, my passion for small animal health has driven my work as a veterinary surgeon. While the past four years have seen me embrace a more flexible locum role to accommodate my academic pursuits (MSc and current PhD), my commitment to animal well-being remains unwavering.
Tailored Care with Empathy and Communication
Working primarily in Dorset, Hampshire, and occasionally London, I provide on-demand locum support to veterinary practices. My focus remains on internal medicine, offering bespoke consultations tailored to each pet's needs. My dedication extends beyond clinical expertise; I pride myself on strong communication and empathy, working closely with owners to find solutions that prioritise both pet well-being and owner considerations (including comfort level and financial feasibility).
Dedication to Lifelong Learning and Exceptional Care
My passion for animal health has always fuelled my pursuit of continuous learning. This dedication began with a rigorous Junior Clinical Training Scholarship in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery. While immersed in this programme, I simultaneously embarked on the challenging path to becoming an RCVS Certified Advanced Practitioner with a focus on Internal Medicine. This dual commitment exemplifies my time management and organisation skills, as well as unwavering dedication to excellence.
Elevating My Skills for Exceptional, Holistic Care
Earning the distinguished title of RCVS Certified Advanced Practitioner, alongside my Postgraduate Diploma in Veterinary Professional Studies, has significantly elevated not only my clinical expertise but also my communication and management skills. This potent combination, further strengthened by my strong empathy, allows me to build trusting relationships with pet owners. This holistic approach empowers me to provide exceptional care for all pets.
Beyond Clinical Expertise
My skill set extends beyond direct patient care. I've assisted veterinary practices in achieving RCVS Practice Standards Scheme accreditation, demonstrating my understanding of operational excellence. Additionally, my work with the Cat Friendly Clinic programme has helped clinics secure Silver or Gold status, promoting improved feline welfare. I'm adept at creating protocols and processes that optimise both clinical and non-clinical aspects of veterinary practice management.
